SERVICES OFFERED

BASIC EDITING

This is the level of editing I most commonly provide. This level of service includes correcting errors in spelling, grammar, and punctuation, as well as fixing incorrect word usage and ensuring consistency within the text. In addition, I adjust sentence structure, correcting awkward or unclear phrasing and ensuring the continuity of arguments in the text. I also provide comments on the overall organization and flow of the paper.

EXTENDED EDITING

This level of service includes all the aspects of basic editing. In addition, I will eliminate wordiness and unnecessary jargon, rearrange text to improve readability, smooth transitions, recommend sections that may be deleted, and suggest additional points you may want to explore in the text. I note and help you clarify any flaws in the logical arguments or any gaps in the literature review. I also provide comments on how to better appeal to your specific audience.

WRITING SERVICES

This service includes summarizing and sometimes consolidating academic manuscripts to produce short briefs for either academic or lay audiences or summaries for a grant proposal.

STYLE SHEETS

For longer projects such as book manuscripts or dissertations, I will create a style sheet for you in which I record editorial and style decisions I have implemented as well as style guide rules for future reference. (No extra charge)

As an ESL writer, you face the significant challenge of writing in a non-native language. In some cases, editing the writing of non-native English speakers may take longer than my usual estimate. Please let me know if you have questions about which level of editing is appropriate for your project. Also, be sure to check out the Resources Page for links to websites that can help you with your writing.

As an editor, I follow a strict code of academic ethics. I never write or rewrite papers for clients. If I find any plagiarized material in your project, I will contact your academic institution.
